Bear Cub, original painting
8"x8" original oil painting of a young (too young to have been alone if I'm being honest) bear who wandered through our place in September. This year was a hard one for bears in our region. There was a late spring frost which killed the possibility of acorns, a main food source for bears. They were very active in town especially, looking for something to eat, but even in the areas outside of town, we saw a lot of activity. This guy came along the day after we had pressed a bunch of cider. I think he could smell the remains of the fruit, and was hopeful. I remain hopeful for him, that he made it through the fall and will visit again in the spring.
